Breaking up with sugar is VERY HARD to do. Especially if you have a wicked sweet tooth. And sugar can seem even more attractive once it becomes (or rather, we make it) unavailable….suddenly we’re nostalgic for all things sugar and, ironically, we want that same sugar to comfort us in our loss. But sugar is not going to change! We have to move on. Luckily, over time and with practice, it gets easier to forget about sugar. I reversed my prediabetes after making permanent changes to my diet and lifestyle, including dumping high-glycemic foods and replacing sweets with healthier alternatives. Small changes in snacks, and substitutions at every meal, really added up over a day, a week, a month. And they will for you too. That’s why we organized pop-ups in 2019 to help kick start your efforts and in 2020-21, we discussed (online) the switch-outs you can make today to achieve better health results, and strategies for staying on track with your break up.
