Diabetes Risk Correlated with Artificial Light at Night (11/16/22)
Using data from over 98,000 adults, researchers at Shanghai Jiaotong University School of Medicine in China found a correlation between diabetes risk and outdoor artificial light at night (LAN)—such as lighted signs outside businesses and homes, street lamps, parking lots and headlights—with the highest exposure group having a 28% increased risk compared to the lowest exposure group.
